Our Butterflies room is where our children can really learn to start spreading their wings and begin the process of becoming ready for reception as they progress through the EYFS. With everything from mark making, learning through play and reading as a group along with free flow indoor and outdoor play being a butterfly at Little Beeches is fun and forges independent, curious learners.
This is a general guide to our daily routine, it is however dependent on each individual child’s needs and different interests of the day this can therefore be flexible:
8:00am-8:30am- Breakfast time involves a selection of cereals or toast.
8:30am- Free flow play, using our inside and outside spaces, open ended and across all areas of learning. Our play is resourced to support children`s interests and needs. Staff work alongside children, scaffolding and enabling their learning, developing independence and building up skills for life
9:00am- Morning wake up exercise/dance which leads into our welcome/circle time to say good morning, count our friends, discuss the weather and day of the week before using our choosing board to allow children to choose multiply activities for the morning.
9.15-10.15am- A balance of Adult led activities to be provided alongside several activities which allow children to explore independently with adult support close by.
9.30-10.00am- Rolling snack which consists of a variety of fruit and a savoury option.
10:15am-10.30am - Children spilt in to age appropriate groups to allow children preparing for school to have a short phonics session whilst our younger children have an age appropriate group time.
10.30-11.45-Children remain spilt into age groups allowing appropriate focus activities for both age groups using the inside and outside spaces.
11:45am-Tidy up time and all children come together for a group time.
12:00pm- Lunch time! Good manners and independence is encouraged by all adults.
12.45-2.15pm- A balance of adult led activities and children's choice are available for the children at this time of the day.
1:00pm- Time to say goodbye to some friends and welcome more friends in and depending on individual needs some of our children nap at this time.
1:45-2.15pm- Rolling snack which consists of a variety of fruit and a savoury option.
2.15pm-Group time to allow children to choose activities for the afternoon as well as an option of group discussions, stories, singing, dancing, etc.
2:30-3.45pm- Children spilt into age groups allowing appropriate focus activities for both age groups using the inside and outside spaces.
3:45pm-Tidy up time before sharing a story or engage the children with some singing, movement or dance before getting ready for tea and saying good bye to some of our friends.
4:00pm- Adults supporting children's hand washing and self care before tea time
4:30-5.30pm- Exploring our favourite chosen activities before parent's arrive
5:30pm- End of the nursery day- see you next time!
